So this is the deal... ;)

Okay, so as most of you probably already know, I'm going to Seoul in South Korea for the next semester.

Pretty far away from Germany ;) actually, I have to fly about 13 hours I think. I already booked my flight and I will be leaving on Feb 24th and get there around 9 am on the 25th. The 25this actually the day we are allowed to move into the dormitories and I'm really lucky because I'm one of the few ones that actually gets to live in one of the international dormitories of my university. Usually, there are many more international students than there are rooms for them to live in. Talking about my university.. I got into Sungkyunkwan University or SKKU for short.

As you can see it's pretty central in Seoul and as far as I've heard, I will "only" need 15-20 mins by subway to get downtown :D and Insadong is the biggest and most popular shopping district for tourists, especially when it comes to souvenirs. But, I have also heard, that my University lies on a steep hill and that I will have to walk up that steep hip whenever I wanna get to university from the dormitories.. haha YAY! Seems like San Francisco all over again :D but I will keep you updated if it is really as bad as I heard ;).
So for now I have booked my flights, paid for my room (which was $1700 btw!! For only 4 months and I will have to share my room with one to three other girls and sleep in bunk beds :O) and now I'm still waiting to hear from the Korean embassy about my visa and from the annoying people for my BAföG. Yep, no visa yet, seems all so last minute, but the embassy needed to know my address in Seoul and I didn't get that until the university (a week ago!) decided to let me know that I got a place and the BAföG people need documentation of my whole life until now anyways (as usual haha) including my address.
But I'm trying to stay positive and not stress myself out too much cause as of right now, I can't fasten up the process of all of this anyways. But I'm really looking forward to all the new impressions, experiences I will make, meeting new people, experiencing the culture and all this nice stuff.. maybe even learning some bits and pieces of Korean ?! :D and I will keep you guys updated and post a lot of pictures too ;)
Funny thing, when I was in San Francisco, your guys' day was already over when mine had just started and now I will be the one in "the future" :D Btw, on the right side on this blog I have the times in Germany and Seoul, if you haven't noticed already. And also, I will be writing all of my posts in English (which I don't think will be a big prob, since all of you know and understand it ;) or should be) cause that's only fair for Kaby and to be honest.. I don't want to have to write the same stuff in two languages all the time haha

Alrighty, see you guys soon and I hope you'll enjoy my little blog about my time in South Korea. :)
